As early as November 18, 2019, there was the article Introducing more privacy transparency for our commercial cloud customers, in which Microsoft announced changes to its Cloud Privacy Policy. These changes are a consequence of criticism from data protection authorities about the conditions that applied at that time. Information on these changes is provided in the article Updated Microsoft Online Services Terms are available to our customers around the world, which is dated January 8, 2019.

The changes in the updated Microsoft Online Services Terms (OST) provide customers with greater transparency regarding data processing in the Microsoft Cloud. At the same time, they clarify Microsoft's data privacy responsibilities for a subset of the data processing that is performed when providing cloud services to businesses. The updated terms are available immediately to all commercial customers – public and private sector, large and small and medium enterprises – worldwide. (via Dr. Windows)
