[German]Microsoft had already announced the discontinuation of Remote PowerShell (RPS) in Exchange Online for some time (see my post Exchange Online PowerShell V2 soon deprecated, replaced by PowerShell V3 from December 2022). Starting July 15, 2023, Microsoft plans to phase out this functionality for customers. From then on, the PowerShell modules in question will no longer work.

Anyone using PowerShell modules to administer their Exchange Online instances should have adapted their scripts to PowerShell V3 before June 2023. After July 1, customers will no longer be able to use RPS when connecting to Exchange Online and will have to use the v3 module with REST cmdlets instead.
I had last reported on this move and my blog post Deprecated Remote PowerShell gets reprieve in Exchange Online. I understand from the following tweet that things are now getting serious.
Microsoft's Scott Schnoll, senior product marketing manager for Exchange Online and Exchange Server and for Microsoft 365 Networking, reminds us that the deprecation of Remote PowerShell (RPS) will begin July 15, 2023, and points to the Techcommunity post Deprecation of Remote PowerShell (RPS) Protocol in Security and Compliance PowerShell on the topic. If you have not yet addressed this issue, you should do so as soon as possible.
