According to the Thunderbird release notes, the following bug fixes and security fixes have been made in this version:
- "Searching the directory for recipients certificates" popup could block compose window when "S/MIME reminder" was enabled and using an LDAP address book
- Some elements still used animations with "prefers-reduced-motion" set
In addition, the developers mentioned various, unnamed visual and thematic improvements. The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see here for more details):
- Windows: Windows 7 or higher
- Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or higher
- Linux: GTK+ 3.14 or higher
