All .Net 6,7,8 updates pulled and re-released by Microsoft

Update[German]On May 14, 2024, Microsoft also released updates for .Net 6,7 and 8 (I didn't mention this in the blog). As usual with Microsoft, "Do it again Sam" also applies here – somehow people don't get it right at the first shot. If we take away the prose, all that remains is the simple fact that the experts from Redmond have withdrawn all Net 6, 7 and 8 updates. The updates were then released again. What happened that Microsoft had to react so drastically?

I didn't even notice that Microsoft took another detour and withdrew the .Net 6, 7 and 8 updates. But Jean F. sent me an e-mail yesterday in which he pointed out the facts and sent me the link to the support article WiX toolset signed with incorrect certificate. The release of .NET 7.0.20 on May 14, 2024 contained updates for the WiX toolset that were incorrectly signed.

This led to errors in scenarios under Windows in which code integrity checks were activated. Microsoft therefore had to recall the updates and then release them again. Further details can be found in the support article WiX toolset signed with incorrect certificate.
