[German]Brief information update for Microsoft Office 365 administrators who use the connector for Microsoft Teams. This was actually due to expire on August 15, 2024 and then stop working on October 1, 2024. After massive protests from customers, Microsoft wants to delay this end-of-life slightly to give customers a little more time to switch to alternative solutions. The exit for the Teams connectors will be postponed to December 2025 – as it was noticed here.

The background to connectors
Office connectors deliver content and service updates in Microsoft Teams directly from third-party services to a Teams channel. By using Office connectors, users can receive updates from services such as Azure DevOps Services, Trello, Wunderlist, GitHub and others. Office connectors post these updates directly to the chat stream. This feature makes it easy for all team members to stay up to date and informed about relevant information.

In the blog post Office 365: Teams Connector will be stopped from August 15, 2024 and discontinued on October 1, 2024, I reported that all newly created connections to the cloud will be blocked from August 15, 2024. And from October 1, 2024, all connectors in all clouds should no longer work.
Life extension until December 2025
Microsoft has now updates the article Retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams from June 3, 2024 with an update from July 23, 2024. It states that, based on customer feedback, Microsoft will not phase out the Office 365 connectors until later and administrators will be given time until December 2025 to implement alternative solutions. Here are the details.
- All existing connectors in all clouds will continue to work until December 2025.
- However, the use of connectors after December 31, 2024 requires additional measures.
- Connector owners must update the corresponding URL to post by December 31, 2024.
- At least 90 days before the deadline of December 31, 2024, Microsoft intends to provide further guidance on updating the URL.
- If the URL is not updated by December 31, 2024, the connector will no longer work.
- From August 15, 2024, all new creations should be created via the Workflows app in Microsoft Teams.
According to Microsoft, these points are due to further service hardening updates being implemented for Office 365 connectors in line with Microsoft's Secure Future Initiative.

Where PowerAutomate gets stuck
Microsoft recommends using the alternative solution Power Automate Workflows to import the data into Teams. However, Nicki M. had informed me by email that the proposed "workaround", webhooks from PowerAutomate, is not 100% compatible with the existing solution. Various providers also have to change their integrations (e.g. UptimeRobot, UptimeKuma).
