[German]Microsoft released security updates for Exchange Server 2016 and Exchange Server 2019 in November 2024. These should actually also be available via the Microsoft Update Catalog, but this is not the case. A blog reader asked me if I knew whether anything had been withdrawn.

Exchange security updates Nov. 2024
Security updates for Exchange Server 2016 and Exchange Server 2019 were released on November 12, 2024. I reported on this in the blog post Microsoft Exchange Server Updates November 12, 2024.
These security updates were withdrawn on November 14, 2024. The problem was that the transport rules no longer worked after installing the security updates. Microsoft had documented this in the Techcommunity article Released: November 2024 Exchange Server Security Updates.
On November 27, 2024, Microsoft then released version 2 of the November 2024 security updates for Exchange Server 2016 and 2019. I reported on the re-release in the blog post Microsoft Exchange Server Nov. Updates Re-Release (27. Nov. 2024). In both versions, however, there is the time zone bug mentioned in Exchange 2016/2019: Nov. 2024 SU v2 also with bug.
Updates are missing from the MS Update Catalog
Blog reader Andre W. asked me at the beginning of December 2024 whether Microsoft had withdrawn the Exchange security updates from November 2024. He could not find v1 (KB5044062) or v2 (KB5049233) in the Microsoft Update Catalog.
I checked it while writing this post. There are support articles for the updates KB5044062 and KB5049233 that indicate where the updates can be downloaded (via Windows Update, via direct links in the support article and in the Microsoft Update Catalog).

But neither SU KB5044062 nor KB5049233 could be retrieved from the Microsoft Update Catalog at the time of writing this post. There is this thread in the tech community where a user asks on November 27, 2024 when the new version will be included in the Microsoft Update Catalog. All links still point to KB5044062 and the new KB is not there.
There has been a theory that Microsoft is delaying the upload to the Microsoft Update Catalog until December, in line with the comment that security updates via Windows Update will be delayed until the December patchday.
Nino Billic from Microsoft replied that the Microsoft Update Catalog and Windows Update would be rolled out in the same process. He wrote something about "deployment next week", but this has not happened. Currently the SU of November 2024 for Exchange 2016/2019 is not available via Update Catalog. I now assume that the security updates will not be made available in the Microsoft Update Catalog until December 10, 2024, as part of the December 2024 Patchday.

Looks like there has been no updated patch in the December Patch Day drop, so will they have this drag out until January??
