Citrix axes Technology Professional Program

[German]Anyone from the readership involved in Citrix's Technology Professional Program? There must have been the "Night of the Long Knives" at the weekend, the program mentioned is to be completely discontinued at the end of the week. The community will be informed about this. This is a blow for hardcore Citrix fans who were able to "earn" an award for special community achievements through the Technology Professional Program.

Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) Programm

The term meant nothing to me, the Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) program is an annual award that recognizes the significant technical contributions of individuals to Citrix products and solutions throughout the year.

This Citrix page states: "The wealth of knowledge they have developed and openly shared has proven invaluable to the Citrix technology community."

CTP is canceled

I read in the article  Citrix slated to axe its Technology Professional program at The Register that the CTP has been discontinued. Members of the Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) program have apparently been told that the initiative is to be axed "at the end of this working week".

Citrix says it has decided to "expand our community to complement our customer portfolio." The Register quotes from a Citrix letter:

As part of this transformation, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the CTP program, effective January 31, 2025. With our product roadmap strategy, we will utilize our community programs to more broadly embrace all stakeholders and champions of our platform, and align our product development even more closely with the needs and priorities of our key customers.

This is described by fans as "a short-sighted decision that reflects a lack of vision for the future". On LinkedIn there is this post by a user who does not sound enthusiastic. Nico Ignoto is a Senior Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS). German blog readers told me, that Citrix axes all community activities and tries to focus on feedback of top edge customers.
