Just a short information: With the release of Debian 13 (trixie) (see my German post Debian 13 (trixie) veröffentlicht) also Proxmox VE 9 and Backup Server 4 has been released a couple of day ago.
The release notes from 5. August 2025 of the virtualization software promises a seamless upgrade from Proxmox VE 8.4, VM snapshots on thick-provisioned LVM storage with snapshots as volume chains (as a technology preview), and several other features.
