[German]I'm posting another newsflash here: The Microsoft subsidiary in Russia has filed for insolvency. The reason seems to be a lawsuit filed by a Russian bank against Microsoft Rus LLC, which ended with a penalty payment claim of approx. 1 million euros.
After Russia's invasion, Microsoft was no longer allowed to deliver anything to the country due to the sanctions. In 2022, Microsoft ended its business in Russia – which then triggered disruptions in contracts, cloud services, licenses, but also Windows and other software updates.
This year, Microsoft's offices in various Russian cities were closed. This cessation of business probably led to disputes over contract fulfillment. In January 2025, the Russian Gazprom Bank filed a lawsuit against Microsoft LLC for "unjust enrichment". After a Russian court partially upheld the claim, Microsoft declared itself insolvent and filed for bankruptcy.
