Windows 10 Cloud upgradable to Windows 10 Pro?

Since a few days there has been rumors about a new Microsoft operating system "Windows 10 Cloud". Now it seems that this OS will be upgradable to Windows 10 Pro.

Windows 10 Cloud is a restricted version of Windows 10, that allows to execute only Windows Store apps – similar to Windows RT. I've written a blog post A closer look at Windows 10 Cloud with a few details found in an early alpha version. Now Brad Sams comes at Petri.com with a new information. He had inspected the Editions Matrix XML file and found the following entry:

<Edition ID="Cloud" name="Microsoft-Windows-CloudEdition" processorArchitecture="amd64″ buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35″ version="10.0.15025.1000″> <Target ID="Professional"/>

This means, Windows Cloud edition will be upgradable to Windows 10 Pro. From what we know from upgrading Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro, its sufficient to visit the Windows Store and buy an upgrade key for Windows 10 Pro. Then Windows 10 will switch to the Pro version. If that is true, it will be a clever strategy from Microsoft. After people bought a cheap Windows Cloud machine, and if they are not satisfied with the restrictions coming with Windows Cloud, they will be able to switch over to a full Windows 10 Pro machine.
