As of December 12, 2018, the developers have released the Google Chrome browser version 71.0.3578.98. This update corrects a vulnerability in the PDF module of the browser.

This version will be rolled out in the coming days for Windows, macOS and Linux. In this version, the changelog only lists a fix that has been rated high. This is the vulnerability CVE-2018-17481 (Use after free in PDFium) in the PDF module of the browser.
The vulnerability was reported by an anonymous person as 'Out of bounds memory access in V8' on November 4, 2018. This problem was first fixed in the first stable version of Chrome 70. However, with the update to version 71.0.3578.98, the browser receives additional fixes for the vulnerability.
