Microsoft Patchday: Other Updates December 11, 2018

[German]As of December 11, 2018 (Patchday), Microsoft has released additional updates for Internet Explorer, Windows Server, etc. In this blog post the respective patches are added, which are not included in the remaining posts linked at the end of the article.

General information

With the December 2018 patchday, Microsoft has closed 39 vulnerabilities (including zero-day vulnerabilities, see here) in Windows. In addition, there are patches for Office and other Microsoft products. I don't have to list the details here, you will find an overview of the critical vulnerabilities at Talos. Bleeping Computer has also published a good overview of security fixes. The complete overview of all updates from Microsoft can be found on this website. Meanwhile the various .NET frameworks prove to be a security risk and must be patched. The following security updates were released on December 11, 2018.

Unofficial Updates for Windows Vista

If you are still using Windows Vista, you can download the updates for Windows Server 2008 from Microsoft Update Catalog and install them manually (see Windows Vista: Patching beyond EOL till January 2020).
