[German]Are you searching a browser that doesn't depend on Chromium or Firefox and shall not been Edge or Safari? The developers have released the first stable version 1.0.0.1 of the Otter browser (successor from Opera) at January 1, 2019. This is the successor of the Opera browser, which is available for different platforms.

Opera announced in 2013 that the browser engine would be discontinued. The Opera browser still exists – a new version was released at the beginning of December 2018. But parts of the project were sold to China. Opera founder Jon von Tetzchner continues with Vivaldi after leaving Opera.
In 2013 the idea of an open source browser based on Opera 12.x and the Qt framework was born (see also here and on the GitHub page with the source code). On January 1, 2014 the first (alpha version) was released. On 1.1.2019 the stable release 1.0.0.1 was released, as you can read on the website otter-browser.org.
This current version can be downloaded free of charge from SourceForge.net for Windows (XP and higher) and Linux (Tarbal.B2ZIP). Currently there are no installer versions and the browser still has some limitations. In the announcement in the Otter Forum here you can find some hints what is missing. There you will also find feedback on what is not yet possible (no YouTube, no Spotify, etc.).
I tested the 32-bit version of the browser under Windows 7. Retrieving web pages works, but much slower than for example Chrome or Firefox. Some limitations like YouTube playback etc. I mentioned above. According to this forum post it should work if you change the user agent string. I tried this via about:config and then Network – UserAgent with Chrome and Firefox, but had no success. Who looks for a browser apart from Chromium or Firefox for certain tasks, can have a look at the Otter Browser. Martin Brinkmann published this article on ghacks.net.
