Older versions of Thunderbird are not yet updated to the 91 development branch. According to the Release notes, there was one change: VCard attachments are now sent with "text/vcard" instead of "text/x-vcard". The developers also fixed the following bugs.
- Thunderbird registered accessibility handlers with the same GUIDs as Firefox, which caused performance issues for NVDA users
- Loss of focus when reordering accounts via keyboard in the account manager
- When setting up accounts, the display name of the provider was not used for setting up calendars
In addition, there were several theme and UX fixes, and the following vulnerability (which was also present in Firefox) that was rated high was fixed:
- CVE-2021-29991: Header Splitting possible with HTTP/3 Responses: Firefox incorrectly accepted a line break in an HTTP/3 header and interpreted it as two separate headers. This allowed a header splitting attack against servers using HTTP/3.

The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see here for more details):
- Windows: Windows 7 or later
- Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or later (macOS 11.0 for Silicon)
