Citrix is acquired for $16.5 billion

Citrix, a cloud computing and virtualization company, has announced plans to be acquired by affiliates of global investment firm Vista Equity Partners and an affiliate of Elliott Investment Management called Evergreen Coast Capital Corporation.

The acquisition is valued at $16.5 billion, a nearly 30 percent premium to Citrix's market capitalization before rumors of a possible takeover first surfaced last month. Venturebeat reported about this acquisition in this article.
