She was the number 2 behind Marc Zuckerberg, the Facebook manager Sheryl Sandberg. After 14 years in the service of this social media company, Sandberg now announced that she is stepping down and leaving the company.

The announcement by Sheryl Sandberg was made logically in a post on Facebook, in which the manager once again reviews the time of the start.

When she took the job at Facebook in 2008, Sandberg (then No. 2 after Zuckerberg) hoped she would be in the role for five years. Fourteen years later, she feels it's time to move on to the next chapter of her life. What exactly she wants to do is unknown. She wants to focus more on her foundation and philanthropic work. She also has a wedding coming up in the summer, and Sandberg wants to take care of her family, which has grown to five children.

In the coming months, Zuckerberg and Sandberg plan to prepare for the handover. Sandberg plans to leave Meta (Facecook's parent company) in the autumn. Javier Olivan, the company's chief growth officer, will take over as COO in the fall. Sandberg will continue to serve on Meta's board of directors.
