According to the Thunderbird release notes, the following changes have been made in this version:

  • The composition window's encryption options are now only displayed for encryption technologies that have already been configured
  • The number of contacts in the currently selected address book is now displayed at the bottom of the address book list column

There are also the following bugs fixes included:

  • Password prompt did not contain the server hostname for POP servers
  • Edit contact was missing in the context menus of the contacts sidebar
  • Some characters were not displayed in the contact lists of the address book, so they were not readable
  • Menu items for the alert dialog with a dark theme were not visible under Windows 7

There is also a security fix that is rated as high: MOZ-2022-0043: Update matrix-js-sdk to v19.7.0 – The Matrix team has created a new version of its JS-SDK to fix a number of security issues. The system requirements for the different operating system versions are (see here for more details):

  • Windows: Windows 7  or higher
  • Mac: Mac OS X 10.12  or higher
