Thunderbird 102.4.1
According to the Thunderbird Release Notes, the following new feature has been added in this release:
Thunderbird now detects and reports errors when parsing vCards that contain incorrectly formatted data
In addition, there are fixes to the following bugs, which are listed as fixed:
- Dynamic language switching did not update the interface when switching from right to left
- Custom header data was discarded after saving messages as draft and reopening them
- The -remote command line argument did not work, which affected integration with various applications such as LibreOffice
- Messages received via some SMS-to-email services could not display images
- VCards with nickname field set could not be edited
- Some recurring events were missing from the agenda when first loaded
- Download requests for remote ICS calendars had the "Accept" header incorrectly set to text/xml
- Monthly events created on the 31st of a month with <30 days placed the first occurrence 1-2 days after the start of the following month
In addition, there are several unspecified visual and UX improvements.
Tip: Going back to an old Thunderbird version after updating to a newer version is rejected when the profile is updated (see also). I fell into this trap some time ago. With an updated profile (without backup) a downgrade is only possible with tricks by starting Thunderbird with the –allow-downgrade option (see also).
The system requirements for the different operating system versions (see here for more details):
- Windows: Windows 7 or higher
- Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 or higher
- Linux: GTK+ 3.14 or higher
he download of the free Thunderbird is available here. (via)
