[German]Excitement in this Windows land, because there was a rumor that Microsoft has indirectly named the release date of Windows 11 24H2. The end of September and Patchday in October 2024 are "hot candidates" for a Windows 11 24H2 release date. However, Microsoft has clarified that this could turn out to be completely different.

Windows 11 24H2 coming in fall 2024
Insiders have known for some time that Microsoft will release its upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 in the fall of 2024. Microsoft has been testing the builds for this release with Windows Insiders for many months.
However, the nomenclature 24H2 only states that this Windows 11 version will be released in the second half of 2024. Off the top of my head, I would have guessed "late September to early November 2024 at the latest" as the release date.
As far as I know, this feature update to Windows 11 24H2 will also be a "major feature update" in which the entire operating system will be replaced. The background to this is that Windows 11 24H2 comes with a new kernel that differs from Windows 11 23H2. Therefore, the previous approach of enabling the upgrade via an enablement update, but already distributing the patches to Windows 11 23H2 machines with earlier updates, cannot be used.
Dynamic update KB5043355 released
Microsoft has already released the update KB5043355 on September 10, 2024. This is a "Secure dynamic operating system update for Windows 11, version 24H2: September 10, 2024", which is intended to improve the Windows recovery environment in Windows 11 version 24H2.
The update is available for the various Windows 11 24H2 versions to be loaded during the installation of this operating system. Neowin.net has mentioned the update release here.

Rumors on the release date
And then suddenly there were reports that Microsoft had named the release date of Windows 11 as 24H2. I first came across the topic in the neowin.net article When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. Here's how it works. Microsoft reveals Windows 11 24H2 release date for all PCs. Is your system ready? And the following tweet also contains also this message.
The basis for this article was the Techcommunity post Enhanced data protection with Windows and Microsoft Copilot from September 16, 2024, which states that the switch to the Microsoft 365 app as the entry point for Microsoft Copilot will coincide with the annual release of the Windows 11 feature updates.
The changes would be rolled out to managed PCs from the optional preview update on September 24, 2024, it said – followed by the release of the monthly security update on October 8, 2024 for all supported versions of Windows 11. These changes will also be applied to Windows 10 PCs the following month.
This has been interpreted to mean that Windows 11 24H2 will be rolled out on September 24, 2024 at the earliest and then definitely on October 8, 2024.
Microsoft clarifies
Due to the reports in the media that communicated a release date for Windows 11 24H2, Microsoft felt compelled to follow up with a denial. I came across this information via the following tweet by Tero Alhonen.
Microsoft writes in a note dated September 18, 2024 that the statements made on September 16, 2024 in the Techcommunity post Enhanced data protection with Windows and Microsoft Copilot refer exclusively to dates for the regular monthly maintenance updates for supported versions of Windows 11. The dates would have nothing to do with when Windows 11 version 24H2, will be generally available. So we are all just as smart as before.
