[German]I'm running out of daisies because I've been plucking flowers "Recall is coming, Recall is not coming, Recall is coming, Recall is not coming…". Microsoft's Brandon Le Blanc admitted to The Verge that the delivery of Recall in Windows 11 will be delayed. Redmond needs more time to secure Recall.

History of the Recall
Recall feature allows Windows to constantly take screenshots of the user's screen and use a generative AI model to process the data and make it searchable. Microsoft's promise was that the user would then only have to type in a keyword to find out when they had probably done something or where the documents with this keyword could be found on their computer.
Security researchers tore the concept apart and Microsoft was forced to withdraw Recall and fundamentally revise it. I took up the whole thing in the article Copilot+AI: Recall, a security disaster – AI-assisted theft. At the beginning of September 2024, Recall was reintroduced via an update in Windows 11 24H2 (see Windows 11 24H2: Update KB5041865 ships Recall).
In October 2024, I was informed that Recall could not be uninstalled under Windows 11 24H2 after all – functions in Explorer were broken during uninstallation. It was quickly explained that Recall was not yet built into Windows 11 and that the function would only be available at the end of October or beginning of November 2024.
Recall is delayed
Microsoft employee Brandon Le Blanc has now admitted to The Verge that the delivery of Recall in Windows 11 will be delayed. Redmond needs more time to secure Recall.

"We're committed to delivering a secure and trusted experience with Recall. To ensure we deliver these important updates, we're taking extra time to refine the experience before making it available in preview to Windows Insiders," said Brandon LeBlanc, Senior Product Manager of Windows, in a statement to The Verge." Originally, the release of Recall in Windows 11 24H2 was planned for October 2024. Recall will now be available in December 2024 as a preview with Windows Insiders on Copilot Plus PCs.
This week, The Verge also discussed in this article that Microsoft has clarified that Recall will always be rolled out and installed as an opt-in on Windows PCs.
