[German]Microsoft has released optional cumulative (preview) updates for Windows 10 22H2 (KB5050081) and Windows 11 24H2 (KB5050094) on January 28, 2025. These updates contain corrections that can be tested and are then generally rolled out as fixes in the following month. It should be noted that preview updates must be manually initiated for download and installation by default (although Windows 11 22H2 and later contains options for automatic installation).

Preview Update KB5050094 for Windows 11 24H2
The list of updates for Windows 11 can be viewed on this Microsoft page. Preview update KB5050094 has been released for Windows 11 version 24H2. It provides new features and fixes for this Windows version. Microsoft refers to the improvements and fixes as highlights and a gradual rollout (not available for all users) as well as a normal rollout (for all users).
While skimming, I noticed a fix for a hanging Excel when opening multiple documents and a fix for the bug described in the article Windows: January 2025 updates cause audio issues. In addition, the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist file (DriverSiPolicy.p7b)] is updated.
The details of the corrections can be found in the support article linked above. The update is offered via Windows Update, but can also be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Update Catalog. The latest Servicing Stack Update (SSU) is integrated to fix various issues. Further details, e.g. on the installation requirements, can be found in the support article if in doubt. The support article contains a list of fixes that Microsoft has specified for the update (these will be included in the security update for the following month)
The update is optional and is offered via Windows Update if the user explicitly searches for updates on the Settings page and then selects the optional update for download and installation. The update can also be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Update Catalog. The latest Servicing Stack Update (SSU) is integrated.
