[German]Brief update for users who sign in to services online with Microsoft accounts. From February 2025, Microsoft wanted to keep users signed in when they leave the service. This has now been withdrawn, as it could have become a problem if multiple users or accounts were used.

What exactly is it about?
In January 2025, I reported in the blog post Microsoft account: Users will remain logged in from Feb. 2025 that Microsoft plans to keep users signed in to Microsoft accounts signed in after the end of the session "from February 2025" if the user does not actively sign out.
I had pointed out that this would not be a problem as long as someone was only using one device. But when using multiple devices, it could become problematic if you don't want settings to be synchronized. It becomes even more problematic if several people use one device or if someone has logged into the Microsoft account on a publicly accessible computer. There is then a risk of third parties accessing accounts because the user is still logged in.
Microsoft will not implement this change
Microsoft has now confirmed to The Verge that the project will not be implemented (for the time being). The Verge quotes Alex Simons, Corporate Vice President of Identity & Network Access Program Management at Microsoft:
"There will be no changes to the Microsoft user sign-in experience for commercial (Microsoft Entra) or consumer (Microsoft Account) users in February. The media reports were based on incomplete information mistakenly published by a Microsoft product team. The erroneous notifications have been removed."
So for now, everything remains the same – let's see what will happen and why the Microsoft product team published incorrect information.
