[German]Microsoft has released optional cumulative (preview) updates for Windows 10 22H2 (KB5053643) and Windows 11 22H2-23H2 (KB5053657) on March 25, 2025. Addendum: The preview update KB5053656 for Windows 11 24H2 has been released on March 27, 2025. These updates contain corrections that can be tested and will then be generally rolled out as fixes in the following month. It should be noted that preview updates must be manually initiated for download and installation by default (although Windows 11 22H2 and later contains options for automatic installation).

Preview Update KB5053656 for Windows 11 24H2

From the list of fixes for 23H2, I would like to mention the fixed bug that ctfmon.exe may become unresponsive when copying data from certain applications. Also, support has been added for a new feature in the Filter Manager that improves the system's ability to notify applications of directory changes while minimizing I/O operations.
Also fixed was the bug that dual-mode printers connected via USB that support both the US Print and IPP-over-USB protocols could unexpectedly output incorrect or unwanted text (the issue from my blog post Windows 10/11: USB printers print random texts after January 2025 update).

Also fixed was the problem that a blue screen (BSOD) could occur when a user profile was redirected to a network Virtual Hard Disk v2 (VHD(X)). The details of the corrections and known problems (with Citrix) can be found in the support article linked above.
For Windows 11 22H2, a number of new features have been listed in this support article for KB5053657. For gamers, Windows 11 version 22H2 offers performance optimizations to improve latency and enable features such as Auto HDR and variable refresh rate for windowed games.
