Anyone considering using Google Pay on their smartphone and entering PayPal as a payment source in the Google Wallet app should perhaps wait. In any case, Google is kicking out this payment provider in the USA.

Since April 11, 2025, users in the USA have no longer been able to link a PayPal account to the Google Wallet app. Existing links remained intact and worked until now. But Google is now kicking PayPal out for good: from June 13, 2025 (i.e. very soon), this payment source will no longer work. The app will then also automatically delete the link. This only applies to the USA, but could also come to other countries. Google does not state the reason for this move.
