[German]Cannonical released Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS (Noble Numbat) as a point release on August 8, 2025. The Ubuntu version provided for its desktop, server, and cloud products comes with long-term support.
According to the release notes, this point release contains numerous updates. According to The Register, the release now includes LibreOffice 24.8.7 and Firefox 141, as well as a new version of snapd, 2.68.5. There are several updates for GNOME, including for the Mutter window manager and the Nautilus file manager. Updates for Gtk4 improve the processing of Unicode emojis and integration with the screen reader Orca, as well as for the audio server Pipewire.
In addition, updated installation media have been provided. This means that fewer updates need to be downloaded from these media after installing Ubuntu. The new features include security updates and fixes for other serious bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. A list of bug fixes can be found here.
