In iOS 16, the lock screen has been redesigned, according to this Apple page. Favorite photos can be displayed, fonts can be customized, and a number of widgets can be displayed to provide information at a glance. Furthermore, users can create different lock screens, each with its own background and style, and easily switch between them.

Furthermore, Apple has included methods to filter distracting content in apps used, as well as added new content sharing features. One can share photos directly from the camera, choose automatic sharing when other members of the shared library are nearby, and get smart suggestions for adding photos to the shared library.

Everyone in a shared library group has the same permissions to add, edit, and delete photos in the shared library. Favorites, captions, and keywords are also synchronized. So when one person organizes the collection, everyone in the group benefits.

Users can now edit a message they just sent (in Messages) or delete a recent message altogether. And you can mark a message as unread if you can't reply at the moment and want to come back to it later. Furthermore, songs can be shared with Messages. Furthermore, there is an option to share notes, presentations, reminders, Safari Tab groups and more in Messages for collaboration. Updates on shared projects can be seen in the thread.

Apple has also improved and added new features like Spotlight search in many apps like Mail and Safari. This includes undo and scheduled sending for email, Shared Tab Groups, Safari Passkeys and more. Apple Maps also gets new features, including multi-stop routing and transit map support. iOS is available for subsequent models of the iPhone, with some features only available for newer models.
