What should I know else?

I guess the majority of my blog readers are using Windows. Windows users should know the following.

  • Thee .exe download from VideoLan project comes with an installer. The same occurs with .msi files found on FTP server.
  • The portable version of VLC player may be obtained as .zip or .7z archive files. Unpack into a local folder and execute the .exe file.

Another tip: The .zip archive of VLC player has 50 MB in size, while .7z archives are 28 MB in size. But .7z also contains the sdk folder with an ActiveX for IE 11 and Visual Basic.
