[German]On March 5, 2019 the Mozilla developers have released the email client Thunderbird version 60.5.3. This is a maintenance update which fixes the MAPI problems of version 60.5.2. Here is some information about it.

The mailto bug
There was a bug under Windows that caused mailto files to be sent in Thunderbird 60.5.2 (and possibly earlier versions). I have discussed the issue and a fix in the article Thunderbird 60.5.2 causes a MAPI error – a workaround. This caused Mozilla to temporarily suspend the auto update to Thunderbird 60.5.2 on Windows.

I just started the update search in Thunderbird, and got the update offered (see screenshot). According to the release notes, the following bug has been fixed:

Are there any new issues?
Within this comment German blog reader Martin Wirtz confirmed, that the automatic update fixed the mailto bug in Windows 7. But he thinks he found a new bug in Windows 7:
The computer now has some problems with long file paths that are not on the desktop. File attachments can be sent from the desktop.
I tried to to include an attachment from a folder with a path name of about 20 characters, and could not reproduce the issue Martin reported. Here the Thunderbird sent this attachment. Can anyone else confirm the error mentioned above?
