On February 3, 2021, the developers have released WordPress version 5.6.1. It is a maintenance update that is supposed to fix 20 bugs (7 of them in the blog editor) of version 5.6. The release notes can be read here. I have just successfully converted a multisite blog without any problems and will update this blog here in a moment.
