Mass rollout of WebView2 in Windows 10

Windows[German]Short tip for Windows 10 system administrators who find that new applications suddenly stop working and require the WebView2 Runtime. Microsoft has created a small tech community post showing how IT administrators can manually download WebView2 Runtime and then deploy it to Windows 10 machines.

Windows 10 devices currently do not have WebView2 Runtime pre-installed. This means that newer applications that want to use the new WebView2 controls (e.g., the new version of Take a Test) will not be able to do so until WebView2 Runtime is installed. I just came across Scott Duffy's tweet addressing the issue.

Microsoft explains in the tech community post Support tip: Bulk installing WebView2 Runtime on Windows 10 devices, how IT administrators can download WebView2 Runtime from WebView2 – Microsoft Edge Developer and then deploy it to Windows 10 machines using management solutions such as Intune. Intune administrators looking for an automated way to deploy WebView2 Runtime will get the appropriate information and guidance to use the Win32 app management features.
