The release notes for the new release state that the new development branch has new policies for Immersive Reader and supports Azure AD login:

  • New Immersive Reader guidelines. Immersive Reader in Microsoft Edge simplifies the layout of web pages, eliminates clutter, and helps you customize your reading experience. With these new policies (ImmersiveReaderGrammarToolsEnabled and ImmersiveReaderPictureDictionaryEnabled), administrators can control the availability of grammar tools and picture dictionary features in Immersive Reader.
  • Enable synchronization for users logged in with Azure Active Directory. Microsoft Edge synchronization transfers data across all logged-in instances of Microsoft Edge. This data includes favorites, passwords, browsing history, open tabs, settings, apps, collections, and extensions. Azure Active Directory users who have synchronization disabled receive a notification after launching the browser and can enable synchronization for all logged-in instances of Microsoft Edge. This synchronization enablement includes other devices on which they are logged in. If a user's other devices do not have history and open tab synchronization enabled, these two toggles are also enabled. Organizations that use the SyncDisabled policy are not affected by this change.
  • Drop. Microsoft Edge now provides an easy way to send files and notes across all logged-in mobile and desktop devices. In the desktop version of Microsoft Edge, Drop can be managed from the sidebar (edge://settings/sidebar). Administrators can control the availability of Drop through the EdgeEDropEnabled policy.

The release notes also list which policies are new and which are outdated. According to the security release notes, the following vulnerabilities are fixed.
