Setup Dynamic Update KB5023847 for Windows 10

Update KB5023847 is a Setup Dynamic Update for the still-supported Windows 10 versions 20H2, 21H2, and 22H2 that was released on March 21, 2023. This update makes improvements to Setup binaries or files that Setup uses for feature updates in Windows 10, versions 20H2, 21H2, and 22H2.

The update is only available in the Microsoft Update Catalog, but can be imported in WSUS after download. There are no prerequisites to install this update, and a reboot after installation should not be required either. Details can be found in the support article linked above.

Windows 11 22H2 OOBE Update KB5025800

As of March 21, 2023, Microsoft has released update KB5025800 (Out of Box Experience Update for Windows 11, version 22H2: March 21, 2023). Microsoft writes about the purpose of the update:

This update adds a Shim to prevent the CoCreateInstance function from creating unsupported objects. This update applies only to the Windows 10 OOBE process and is available only when OOBE updates are installed.

This update adds a shim to prevent the CoCreateInstance function from creating unsupported objects. This update applies only to the Windows 10 OOBE process and is available only when OOBE updates are installed.

So it is the same fix as for the Windows 10: OOBE-Update KB5025801: This update adds a "compatibility extension" (Shim). This is to prevent the mentioned CoCreateInstance function from creating objects that are not supported. The KB5025801 update is only offered for installation as an option when reinstalling Windows 11 during the so-called Out of Box Experience (OOBE) phase. However, this requires an Internet connection during this phase.
