[German]Microsoft has updated the Edge browser to version 114.0.1823.86 as of July 17, 2023. The release notes state that various bugs and performance issues for Microsoft Edge have been fixed.

In a comment here, someone reports the problem that they now get the Save As dialog displayed every time they download, even though it is explicitly turned off in the settings. I had referred to the English tutorial here – no idea if that is helpful. Thanks to the reader for pointing it out. Anyone else in the readership having this behavior?
In a comment here, German reader Bernie mentioned, that he wanted to download the WebView2 Runtime version 114.0.1823.86 from the Microsoft developer site. He uses the Evergreen bootstrapper for software distribution. Bernie writes that this download is however no longer accessible since 7/18/2023. I tested it (as of 7/19/2023, 03:18 AM MEZ) briefly – the page did not work on the first attempt – the loading animation ran endlessly. On the second try, the download link and download could be retrieved. However, on the next page load it took endlessly until it was displayed.
