[German]Brief information for users and administrators of Microsoft Office 365. I have received a message from an IT service provider who reports a problem with customers that the search in shared calendars in Outlook has been broken for a few days or that Outlook even crashes.

Blog reader Uwe, a German IT worker, contacted me on Facebook in a private message and reported about the problem that his customers are currently experiencing a broken calendar search in Outlook 365. He wrote under the title "Outlook Calendar Search in Office 365 shared calendars broken":
Hello Günter,
maybe interesting for you. Since a few days we get more and more feedback from different customers that in shared calendars (online mode) cannot be searched anymore.
Scenario 1) Finds no results, Can search locally, shows results.
Scenario 2) Outlook crashes
I haven't found anything on the net yet in a hurry.
So it's about the search in Shared Calendar under Microsoft Outlook 365 (whether Outlook 2016 – 2021 is also affected, I don't know). Uwe wrote that his IT colleagues report same feedback from. And there had been another feedback from another IT colleague:
We have it, when searching inboxes of shared mailboxes; occurs so since Wednesday last week.
So it seems that something has broken from Microsoft when searching online in shared calendars (Shared Calendar). A quick search of my own on the Internet did not reveal anything in this regard. My question to you: Has anyone else made this observation and is there a known solution?
Shared Calendar is a special feature in Microsoft Outlook, where a user can share his calendars from Exchange, Microsoft 365, or Outlook.com with other users. Microsoft has described the feature in the article here. Something similar is also available for mailboxes (Share Mailboxes).
Shared content is always good for problems. There is this Microsoft Answers post (from February 2020), but without a solution. There is also a post Outlook search not working properly in shared mailboxes, but it is already from July 2022, addressing a search problem in shared mailboxes – doesn't really fit either. There was a reference to this Microsoft support post about setting the download options for shared mailboxes in cached Exchange mode. I don't know if it's the cached mode in the current case – the reported Outlook crashes don't fit into the picture. There is nothing in the Known Issues for Outlook either – the last post is from May 2023.

Any updates on this?
We are experiencing the same issue.
Since build 2309 we get an error message when searching shared mailboxes.
" there is a problem with your nework connection"
You then get an option to search on your local computer which eventually works.
We are also starting to see this issue at my work. Any updates?
A German user commented: Can confirm the problem and the workaround. Probably due to the "Current Channel", we switched last week from the "Business Channel".
So the workaround is to switch from current channel to business channel? ( reinstall office?? )
Anyone else still experiencing this issue? Users have a shared calendar, they try to search and it either crashes or returns no results but if you look for the meeting manually you can find it. Happening to multiple users all searching on the same shared calendar.
