[German]On February 6, 2023 (first Tuesday of the month), Microsoft released a non-security update for Microsoft Project 2016. It is the update KB5002530, which is intended to fix a startup problem of previous updates. Here is some information about this update.

Regular Office update
On the first Tuesday of every month, Microsoft releases non-security updates for versions of Microsoft Office that are still supported. The updates apply to the installable MSI version of Office and are delivered via Windows Update. Click-to-run packages receive the updates via other channels. For this reason, Office 2019 no longer appears in the list below, where only click-to-run installers are available. Microsoft lists the updates on this page.
Office 2016
The packages are distributed automatically via Windows Update, but can also be downloaded and installed manually via the linked KB articles. This time there were only the following updates:
Update for Microsoft Project 2016 (KB5002530): This update fixes a problem that occurs after KB-5002457 has been installed (but not together with KB-5002498). A cross-update dependency occurs that prevents Office applications from starting. The February 6, 2024 update removes this dependency and allows the applications to start even if both updates are not installed. However, both updates should be installed to resolve the original security issue.
The update(s) are provided automatically via Windows Update, but can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center and installed manually. Incidentally, Office 2016 dropped out of mainstream support on October 13, 2020, but will continue to receive security updates until October 14, 2025. There are no more updates for Office 2013.
