[German]In addition to the Verizon mobile network outage in the USA reported here, Sony's Playstation network has probably also been affected. This has been massively disrupted since 1 a.m. this night and worldwide (with many countries further west still writing September 29, 2024). When attempting to log in, players only receive a network error ("The connection to the server timed out" or "An error has occurred") and cannot use the PlayStation.

There are currently no known causes, but on downdetector.com / allestörungen.de you can see a sharp increase in the number of messages from around 1 a.m. (October 1, 2024 CET). Looks like people went to bed after nothing worked.
The colleagues from Bleeping Computer state here that the PlayStation Network is down worldwide. Subscribers can no longer use online games or access the company's website.
Various services are listed as faulty on the network status page. Difficulties with logging in, the store, video playback, etc. are listed. Affected are PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, Web.
