[German]A small addendum from the beginning of May 2025 regarding Exchange Online. Since April 25, 2025, there has been a problem with a machine learning model incorrectly marking emails from Gmail accounts in Exchange Online as spam. According to Microsoft, this problem was fixed at the beginning of May 2025.
On April 25, 2025, Microsoft 365 users noticed that incoming emails from GMail accounts in Exchange Online mailboxes were classified as SPAM and sorted into quarantine.
On May 2, 2025, Microsoft then published EX1064599 in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. It states that Microsoft had fixed a problem with a machine learning model that incorrectly marked emails from Gmail accounts in Exchange Online as spam.
The colleagues from Bleeping Computer noted here that Microsoft already wrote on May 1, 2025 that Microsoft had successfully reset the faulty ML model to the previous working version. This had mitigated the false positive problem. Administrators and users may also have been able to create custom allow rules to ensure that Gmail messages were not sorted into the junk folder during the problematic period, according to Microsoft.
