Exchange Online: Permission change on "Public Folders" is denied

Exchange Logo[German]A question for all Exchange Online tenant administrators. Are you currently still able to set or change permissions for public folders? A blog reader contacted me because he's been having trouble with his tenant for the past few days—he can't make any changes to permissions. The reader reported that this issue has now also affected some of his clients' tenants.

German blog reader Christian S. contacted me by email yesterday morning and wrote that, "for the past few days," he has been unable to set permissions on public folders in his own Microsoft tenant for Exchange Online. He has later discovered that this is no longer working for his clients' tenants either. After publishing the German blog post, other tenant administrators confirmed this issue after "since a few days". More details may be read within my German blog post [select your language within the blog's build in translator].
