Update KB4484104 is causing issues opening Office documents on SharePoint server (June 2022)

[German]After the release of the June 2022 updates for Microsoft Office 2016, blog readers have left some reports about issues within my German blog. These problems occur when opening Office documents on SharePoint servers after installing the June 7, 2022 updates for Office 2016.

Office June 2022 updates

As of June 7, 2022 (first Tuesday of the month), Microsoft has released only two updates for Microsoft Office 2016 to correct bugs. These are the updates (see Microsoft Office Updates (June 7, 2022)):

Update KB4484104 resolves an issue where opening files from the Windows Start menu or Office Online may revert to opening in read-only mode.

Update KB4484104 causes issues

However, something seems to have gone wrong with this fix by update KB4484104. Because German blog reader Ralf left the following cumment (I've translated the comment below) reporting issues.

KB4484104: since installing this KB there are problems with opening Office documents on SharePoint – do other colleagues have similar problems?

His question if anyone else is affected was confirmed by another user with the following comment (translated).

Yes, for customers using Office 2016 in combination with 2012R2, there are more messages in the event log about application hang. And this since the named update. It occurs sporadically, but always has the same error message.

A rogue who thinks it would be again a further drop to force the customers into Office 365 subscription.

I haven't found any other hits on a quick internet search so far. Question in the round: are there any readers who can also observe and confirm this behavior? And if so, any additional insights?
