filefactory.com down? (July 22, 2024)

Stop - Pixabay[German]FileFactory is a file hosting service that allows users to upload and share files. The provider advertises unlimited uploads and unlimited downloads. There are probably free offers and also subscriptions. But the filefactory.com site has been down since July 22, 2024 at around 13:00. Initially, the login no longer worked, but now the site shows a database error. Following a tip from a reader, I pulled together some details.

On Trustpilot, FileFactory is advertised as the longest-running and most renowned file sharing service. FileFactory was founded in 2005 and is the leading provider of unlimited, free file hosting. All files can be downloaded or streamed an unlimited number of times and premium members enjoy unlimited speed, bandwidth and downloads.

Outage since July 22, 2024

German blog reader Edgar-Rainer B. contacted me by email in the evening and informed me that there were problems with FileFactory. On July 22, 2024, since about 13:00, the sharehoster filefactory.com was offline, the reader wrote. The homepage was still accessible. However, logging in with a PAID account (premium account) did not work for the reader. I then tried to access the filefactory.com page, but only received the message:

Error connecting to the database. Please try again shortly.

The reader sent me the following screenshot, which basically signals the same thing.

The password reset does not work either. The link is sent, but if you then want to set a new password, you get a link that is invalid, the reader then found.

The reader writes that he has already received feedback from Belgium and the UK – the same problem exists there. A quick check on this page also shows that the service is disrupted. Anyone else who is affected and can confirm this?
