A German blog reader informed me yesterday about this security issue.
GPU display driver vulnerability
According to Security Bulletin NVIDIA GPU Display driver contains multiple vulnerabilities in the kernel mode layer handler, the GPU display driver (nvlddmkm.sys) contains several vulnerabilities in kernel mode layer handler. It seems that all GPUs and all it's drivers are affected.
Nvidia offers an update since May 2017, but an automated search via Nvidia updater did not work (according to my German blog reader), because Java and the Browser are blocking. Internet Explorer 11 didn't block, but also wont' work – I haven't tested it yet. Users should visit Nvidias website and search for the appropriate update.
