E-mail accounts hijacked by hackers can be used for various malicious purposes. These range from reading emails in a user's inbox to exploiting this information to create internal phishing campaigns for other company employees. Possible goal: to gain access to additional inbox accounts, or to investigate the company for further attacks. It is also possible to create rules for forwarding future emails to external accounts.
