[German]Another brief information for users of the free packing program 7-Zip. The developer Igor Pavlov has updated the Windows version of the program available for various platforms to version 19.00 as of February 21, 2019.

– Encryption strength for 7z archives was increased: the size of random initialization vector was increased from 64-bit to 128-bit, and the pseudo-random number generator was improved.
– Some bugs were fixed.
After I already warned about the previous versions in the blog (see Security-Risk: Avoid 7-Zip), the developer improved the security of his code (see also the German comments here). Regarding the problems with the .exe installer (keyword DLL hijacking) my tip: Use the .msi installer from the Sourceforge page instead of the .exe version (to avoid DLL hijacking).
