Google Chrome 75.0.3770.90 (Security update)

Google has released a security update for the Google Chrome browser which upgrades it to version 75.0.3770.90. A critical vulnerability is closed.

US-CERT issued a warning on June 13, 2019, which points to the new version 75.0.3770.90 of Google Chrome for Linux, macOS and Windows.   

Google has released Chrome 75.0.3770.90 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This version addresses a vulnerability that an attacker can exploit to take control of an affected system.

The warning mentions a vulnerability that allows an attacker to take over the system. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) recommends that users update to Chrome 75.0.3770.90 as soon as possible.

The Google Blog reveals that a use-after-free vulnerability (CVE-2019-5842) has been fixed in the Blink engine. Google classifies the vulnerability as high, but leaves details in the dark. As usual, the update will be rolled out within the next days via auto update to Chrome users.
