[German]Microsoft has released another batch of microcode updates for Intel CPUs on 30 January 2020 with the update KB4497165 for Windows 10.

I received this comment with a note about the microcode update KB4497165. But Microsoft has also released such updates for older Windows versions – the colleagues from have published the list of all updates here. Here is the list of KBs:

  • KB4497165: Windows Windows Server, Version 1903, Windows 10 Version 1903. Windows Server Version 1909, Windows 10 Version 1909
  • KB4494174: Windows Server Version 1809, Windows 10 Version 1809
  • KB4494451: Windows Server Version 1803, Windows 10 Version 1803

The microcode updates have been revised and now include support for the following Intel CPUs:

  1. EP says:

note that these revised intel microcode updates for many win10 releases are only available from the ms update catalog currently as this Softpedia news article pointed out:

  2. EP says:

MS support KB article 4497165 lists "Sandy Bridge" with CPUID "206A7" as "8th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors"

that is actually a mis-print as Sandy Bridge CPUs are actually 2nd generation Intel Core processors. all other KB articles like 4494174 have Sandy Bridge listed correctly
