Linux malware detection with Microsoft's project Freta

[German]Microsoft Research has now announced the Freta project. It is a cloud-based malware detection service to detect rootkits, cryptominers and previously undiscovered malware strains lurking in Linux cloud VM images.

I became aware of the issue through this tweet from colleagues at Bleeping Computer.

Freta is a cloud service that scans Linux cloud VM images and detects malware. The Freta project was announced by Microsoft Research in this blog post. There you can read the planned details of the free service.
