Windows 7/8.1: Nvidia ends graphics driver support in October 2021

Windows[German]Graphics card manufacturer Nvidia has announced the end of Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 support with graphics card drivers on June 11, 2021. Starting October 4, 2021, Game Ready Driver upgrades, including performance improvements, new features, and bug fixes, will be available exclusively for systems running Windows 10 as the operating system. So support for Windows 7/8.1 in this regard will end. But critical security updates will be available for systems running Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 until September 2024. Support for the Kepler-GeForce GPU will also end then, as you can read here.

    while nVidia plans to drop Win7/8.x graphics driver support in October 2021, AMD has already ended support for Win7 & 8.1 and their pre-polaris graphics hardware starting with the 21.6.1 driver version as noted from Neowin:

    last AMD Radeon grahpics driver version to support Win7/8.1 and pre-polaris GPUs is 21.5.2.
