I became aware of the successful cyber attack on Accenture on Twitter. In the following tweet, security researcher Kevin Beaumont points out this attack.

Accenture Ransomware

Le Parisien reports on the incident here.Consulting giant Accenture is under pressure due to ransomware attack by Lockbit ransomware. A group of hackers is threatening to publish the data ripped off in the ransomware attack on DarkWeb. However, the release, which was originally scheduled for yesterday if payment was not made, has probably not been carried out due to a technical error.

"These people are beyond privacy and security. I really hope their services are better than what I have seen as an insider. If you are interested in buying some databases, get in touch," the LockBit website says of the data leak. Accenture confirmed the ransomware attack to Bleeping Computer. Accenture writes:

Through our security controls and protocols, we detected irregular activity in one of our environments. We immediately contained the issue and isolated the affected servers. We fully restored our affected systems from a backup. There was no impact to Accenture's operations or our clients' systems.

It tells Bleeping Computer that the affected systems were restored from a backup. Hudson Rock wrote in the tweet. that Accenture had 2,500 compromised computers belonging to employees and partners. The Lockbit gang claims to have stolen 6 TB of files and is demanding $50 million in ransom. Apparently Accenture has not paid, so the release of data is intended to build pressure.
