Sicherheit (Pexels, allgemeine Nutzung)[German]Security vendor Emisoft has released a decryptor that enables the decryption of files encrypted by the Synack ransomware. This allows victims to recover their files without having to pay the demanded ransom from the cyber criminals. The decryptor is available for free.

SynAck is a ransomware that was first discovered in 2017 and encrypts files using either ECIES and AES-256 or RSA-2048 and AES-256. SynAck appends a random extension to each file, but can be identified by a special file marker at the end of the files, which also indicates which version of the malware was used.

In order to decrypt your files, the decryptor needs a ransom note that contains the encrypted key. This very decryptor is now available for free. I took the information about the decryptor from the following tweet – the details can be read here.
