[German]The Google Chrome browser released on November 15, 2021 (see Chrome 96.0.4664.45) is causing user complaints. Users are noticing issues with Twitter and Discord websites, as well as video playback. Chrome developers have since acknowledged this as a Chrome 96 bug.

Shortly after the release of the new Google Chrome 96, there were already complaints from users that the display of Twitter messages was no longer possible. The message "Something went wrong. Try reloading ….", as visible in the following tweet.

Colleagues at Bleeping Computer reported user problems with Twitter and rendering in Chrome 96. Twitter users report that GIFs are black and images are not displayed. Videos can't be played. Instead, the same error message appears on, "Something went wrong." Problems with Discord are also reported. There is a Chromium bug report at Google, where the bug is already listed.
